4 Tips to Help You Stick With Your New Year’s Resolutions

We’re 2 weeks into the new year. Have you stayed the course and maintained your New Year’s resolution? I mean really maintained it. If you set health and fitness goals, have you stuck to all the required commitments you set for yourself? If you have struggled, the chances are you set a goal that is too ambitious or too long-term. The key to success with goal setting is choosing something realistic and achievable and then setting smaller short-term goals to help you get there. Let's not lose motivation and hope. 2021 can still be your year and your Stealth, the Lean Core program, and Stealth Nation can help you achieve great things.

Let's remember the basics to achieving results... using your Stealth for just 3 minutes a day, walking just 30 minutes a day, choose healthy nutrition (Stealthleancore.com) staying properly hydrated and getting a good night's sleep. If any of these aren't happening for you, choose one aspect a week and work to improve it. Now please read on for my tips on how to stick to your New Year's Resolutions.

Here's how to set yourself up for success with Stealth in 4 easy steps.

Step 1: Be consistent with realistic goals

Make a short 30-day commitment to yourself to get at least 3 minutes each day on your Stealth.  It doesn’t matter how you get it in: 30-second sessions 6 x per day, 1-minute sessions 3 x per day, or one 3-minute session.  Do what is going to work for your schedule and your physical limits. Start with using your Stealth every day for the next 30.

Next month, make it a goal to drink more water each day. 8 cups or 64 ounces is recommended.

Month 3: add more vegetables into your day.

Month 4: replace sugary desserts with fruit.

Step 2: Time and attention

Set smaller realistic goals to meet in a certain amount of time. Each goal gets 30 days to become a habit you can continue to build on. Pay attention to how your body is feeling during the 30 days of Stealth activity, then again as you add in more water, vegetables and fruit. Chances are your body will be reaping the benefits of your newly adopted habits.

Step 3: Find accountability and commitment

It’s hard to stay committed to resolutions when you’re only letting yourself down. Stealth with a buddy or join a challenge. Don’t have a friend with a Stealth? Make a post in the Stealth Nation Facebook group. I’ve seen great friendships form in the group and have even made some of my own.

Step 4: Reward and forgive

Reward your progress with pre-planned rewards that will support your growth, maybe a new pair of running shoes or a new workout outfit. Celebrate your progress with something that’s going to leave you feeling accomplished and wanting more. Acknowledge your feelings, admit when you’ve slipped, forgive yourself for it but refuse to quit.

Climbing mountains is great but it takes a lot of steps with each one building on the one before to be successful and make it to the top.
