Three years ago, I had gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and topped out at 215 pounds. After I gave birth to my youngest daughter, I decided to make my health a priority. I started running daily and drastically changed my diet to a Whole Foods Plant Based Diet centering on high carbohydrates and low fat.
Slowly my weight started decreasing until I was back to my high school weight of 150. I wanted to start focusing on toning and tightening at that point, so I started planking. I found out about Stealth through Facebook advertising and, after much deliberation and reading many glowing reviews, decided to give it a shot. I am so happy I did! My arms, core and legs are toning nicely, and I am going shopping for my SECOND pair of smaller jeans. I am now down to 130 pounds and have added Yoga to my routine.
I've increased my total Stealth time from 3 minutes a day to 10 minutes a day and am hoping to train my core for more advanced Yoga positions, specifically a handstand and headstand.
After learning about the progress I've made, people will often ask me "how did you do it?" I'm always nervous to tell them because MOST of the time they will brush it off as too hard to do but I give them my honest answer... "Diet and exercise." If they haven't completely tuned out at that point, I will share with them my routine. I roll out of bed and get on the Stealth for one minute at a time for 5 minutes, then I do 15 minutes of yoga and hop on the Stealth for another 5 minutes. I then run for 5 miles before doing another 15 minutes of yoga.
Diet is another hard change for most people to make. I chose a Whole Foods Plant Based Diet on the recommendation from my father's surgeon prior to his triple bypass. He sat down with my family and told us in no uncertain terms that we had heart disease in our family and, if we wanted to avoid the same fate, we needed to change our lifestyle. I had never heard of that way of eating before and spent my night on Google. I watched Forks Over Knives on Netflix and made the change to my diet immediately.
Prior to my change in diet my cholesterol was alarmingly high, and my doctor had been discussing medication for after I gave birth. I'm pleased to say that my cholesterol is now PERFECT and, for the first time as an adult, my BMI is now NORMAL.
Diet and exercise are not EASY to adopt as a busy mom of 3 but the Stealth, my elliptical and my yoga mat have been tremendously helpful in my fitness journey. I enjoy using the games to keep me on track and I use the Facebook group to encourage me on the continuation of my fitness journey.
